Our client is a family owned national care home operator rated as one of the top 20 large groups by carehome.co.uk. They are one of the fastest growing healthcare companies in the sector.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Home Manager for their Nursing Home, in Bedford, Bedfordshire.

The nursing home is a converted Victorian building with an interior suited to the efficient practice of skilled care, while also being a charming and stylish place to live.

Care provision at this homely setting is person-centred, with the team highly-trained in in many complex nursing needs, as well as dementia care techniques.
Carers believe in building a strong relationship with residents and their families, while promoting an independent and active lifestyle as much as possible. It is registered as a 32-bedded nursing home with a 'GOOD' in all areas CQC report.

In order to be considered for this exciting role as Deputy Home Manager, you will have the following skills & experience:
> alongside the Home Manager, you will manage and have responsibility for all aspects of the service in line with CQC requirements
> you will ensure the service users are receiving the highest standards of professional support experiencing life opportunities helping to promote growth and independence.

The successful candidate will support the Home Manager and deal with the day to day running of the home in the absence of the Home Manager.

The position is offering 40 hours per week, two long days nursing (12 hour shifts) + 2 days supernumerary (8 hour shifts), at a pay rate up to £42,000 per annum (subject to experience)

Criteria / Person Specification

The ideal candidate for this position must have:

  • A nursing qualification RGN/RMN with an active NMC Pin
  • The ability to engage with the service users to understand their needs in order to provide excellent services of care
  • Good working knowledge of CQC standards
  • The ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with external care professionals, families, visitors and staffing teams.
  • Promote ownership of care programs by fully involving service users and their families in developing, agreeing and evaluating care programs within the home.
